I was scrolling around the never-ending sea of social media when I came upon a post from @DaveRodz on Instagram. He is making some awesome short videos of random subjects, but the one in question was his motorcycle. He has an Indian Challenger Darkhorse in a deep green color. In the video, his lights were a different color, and they looked amazing. I reached out to him on the gram, and he pointed me to Lamin-X. Lamin-X is a company that specializes in protective films for vehicles. They offer a wide assortment of these films for almost anything with wheels or a motor. At the time, they had two options for Indian Challengers: one for the daytime running lights and the other for the main headlight along with the daytime running lights. It was great of Lamin-X to offer me a discount code for others to use. If you want to use it you can generate it here: https://laminx.refr.cc/whomemoto Running lights only: https://lamin-x.com/indian-challenger-2020-daytime-running-light-covers.html Headlight and running lights: https://lamin-x.com/indian-challenger-2020-headlight-covers.html I just went with the running lights because I wanted to add some color to break up the lighting profile. My goal, besides the vanity of the bike, was to make it more visible for traffic that would be cross in front of me. A lot of motorcycle crashes occur from traffic pulling out in front of the rider. I chose yellow since it goes well with my blue beast of a bike. Yellow also helps with bad weather conditions like fog and snow.
Putting these on was easy. They are very sticky and luckily did not stick to themselves when I pulled off the backing. I could apply the film and remove it to reapply it better, with no loss in its function. It was easier for me to apply it from the bottom up, when I was drawn to apply it top to bottom. Watch the video to see the simple installation process. I have never applied a film to a vehicle before, and I do not consider myself detail-inclined. I was obviously nervous doing this, but I wanted to share the experience to encourage others to try new things.
